NFA account activation: step-by-step guide

Six steps to use a Steam account supplied with an activation file.

Read the steps

This guide explains the activation-file method. Follow the instructions supplied with your purchase and keep the order reference when contacting support.

From file to Steam.

Keep this order. Close Steam completely before opening the activation file.

  1. Close Steam completely

Check Task Manager and make sure all Steam processes have stopped.

  2. Download your purchase file

Use the file attached to your own order in My purchases.

  3. Run as administrator

Open the verified file on the one device where you will use the account.

  4. Select Add Account

Wait until the application displays Open Steam. Do not start Steam before that.

  5. Open Steam manually

When Open Steam appears, launch the Steam client yourself and wait for sign-in.

  6. Turn off Remote Play

After signing in, disable Remote Play in Steam settings. The account stays saved in the client.

After a successful sign-in, you do not need to run the file again for your next session.

Keep your access in place.

DO

  • Use Change Account / Change user to switch accounts.
  • Use the supplied file on one device only.
  • Record the screen from the first run, keeping passwords and keys out of anything you share.
  • Keep the key and file private with your purchase records.
  • If sign-in fails, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

AVOID

  • Do not choose Sign Out or remove the account from the Steam client.
  • Do not run the file on a second device.
  • Do not change the nickname, avatar, description, friends, privacy or online status during any applicable warranty period.
  • Do not interfere with the account owner when they are online.

If sign-in gets stuck.

Steam does not start after Add Account

Close Steam completely. In the supplied application, select Clear Steam and wait for it to finish. Select Add Account again. When Open Steam appears, launch Steam manually.

The account works, but I cannot sign in

The source instructions require Windows 10 or Windows 11 and administrator rights. Close Steam, run the verified purchase file as administrator, select Clear Steam, then Add Account. Wait for Open Steam and launch the client manually.

Still need a hand?

Describe the error and the steps you tried. If you have an order, include its number. Keep your screen recording for troubleshooting; never share the key, password or executable file.

Contact support

Use this guide before opening your delivered activation file. Follow the steps for the supplier’s access method and the instructions attached to your order; keep your order reference available if you need help.

Start from your own order

After payment, follow the delivery status in your NFA.run account. Download only your own file once it is available. Read the Windows 10/11 and single-device instructions below before starting; NFA access does not give full control of the original email.

Report a problem with useful evidence

Keep the visible error, time of the attempt and steps already tried. Open support from the affected order so that the conversation is linked to the correct purchase. Remove keys, passwords and other private access data from screenshots.

Check the warranty clock

The warranty begins when the file becomes available in the order. The product’s stated period is three hours for standard listings or 24 hours for the listed inactive variants. Read the warranty policy and report a problem promptly; do not reset or repeat supplier operations yourself.

Questions about this page

Where do I get my activation file?

Open the paid order in your NFA.run account and follow its delivery status. The download becomes available after the supplier delivery step succeeds.

Does this guide transfer ownership of the original email?

No. NFA means Not Full Access. The activation method does not include full control of the original email.

What should I include in an activation support request?

Use the affected order, describe the visible error and steps tried, and attach a redacted screenshot if useful. Do not place secret keys or account passwords in public messages.
